Harold F. Stacey, a hardworking family man and resident of Stoughton for over 38 years, formerly of Malden, passed away after a brief illness at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Friday March 4, 2016. He was 80 years old and the beloved husband of Carol A. (DeCosta) Stacey, the loving father of Nancy A. Vitorino and her husband Eduardo of Attleboro Falls, Susan A. Stacey and Harold J. Stacey both of Stoughton. He was also the adoring doting grandfather of Eduardo V. Vitorino Jr., Sophia M. Vitorino and Antonio F. Vitorino all of Attleboro Falls. Other survivors include his sister Jacqueline Caggiano of Acton, his brother Francis L. Stacey and his wife Mary of Marshfield and several nieces, nephews and friends. Born August 16, 1935 in Somerville, Massachusetts, Harold was a son to the late Francis Leo Stacey and Marion Clement (Gerraughty) Stacey. Mr. Stacey proudly served his country as a marksman in the United States Army and was honorably discharged February 1, 1960.He attended and was a communicant of St. James Church in Stoughton and was also an active member of the churches prayer group. He enjoyed fishing and always put others well being before himself. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday March 8, 2016 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Dockray-Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Canton . His funeral will be held on Wednesday March 9, 2016 at 9:30 A.M. in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass with military honors at St. James Church, 560 Page Street, Stoughton at 10:30 A.M. ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Catholic Charities, 51 Sleeper Street, Boston,MA 02110 or the St. James Church Building Fund, 560 Page Street, Stoughton,MA 02072 in Harold’s memory would be appreciated.
