Gerboc, Rev. Philip Martin, IOFM, 54, of Madison, WI, died February 2, 2017 at Agrace Hospice in Janesville, WI, following a stroke. Born in Cleveland, OH, to the late William and Kathleen (Cullen) Gerboc, he attended Catholic schools and upon graduation, attended OLA Seminary of the Sacred Heart, Province of OFMs Quincy University, in Quincy, IL. He spent much of his life politically active and was a union organizer, running many political campaigns in IL and WI. He was ordained to the priesthood 27 May 2012, and was at the time of his death the Vicar General of the Diocese of the Great Lakes of the Unified Old Catholic Church. He ministered to the homeless, mentally ill, and poor in Madison, WI. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his brother William F. He is survived by his sisters Mary Wolf, Bogart, GA and Barbara Hofelich, Medina, OH and loving nieces, nephew and countless friends, including those in the Franciscan and Dominican families. In keeping with Philip’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a local food pantry or homeless shelter in his name.
